My favorite surf spots are some local breaks in Santa Barbara like hammonds, Rincon, and Sharks. Sharks is a fun break because not many people know about it so the crowd is usually pretty small. It also doesn't break very often. Ive surfing in Mexico and Hawaii too and it was nice because the water was warm and the waves were great. One of the best waves I ever caight was in Mexico. It felt like I was on the wave for hours and once it ended my legs hurt. If you want to learn surfing, I would recommend the beach mondos. Its great for earning, its where I learned and its a chill beach for begginers.
Nasare, Mavericks, Jaws are all examples of big wave surfing breaks. Big wave surfing is a whole different sport. It challenges the art of surfing while putting your life in danger at the same time. It can go incredibly right and you can expirience a life changing event of dropping in on a wave 10 times the size of you, or you could lose your life. The training for it is extremely intense. Your supposed to be able to hold your breath for at least 4 minutes, be able to paddle for miles and more. If thats what your goal is, definitly make surf you have the right training.
